Five Things More Frightening Than The Terrorists

5. Allowing yourself to jump to conclusions without objectively reviewing the facts for yourself.

4. Using broad strokes to define and label people. “They’re Muslim, Christian, Jew, LGBT, Black, White, Latino, Male, Female, etc.” so therefore, they must be, (fill in the blank). It is irrational, incorrect and serves to dehumanize that group. It then becomes easy to think in terms of “them vs. us”. We have to protect ourselves from… THEM.

3. Allowing a statistically small number of people to bully and intimidate several billion generally gregarious, generous, loving humans into a fear driven global panic.

2. Abandoning our basic humanity just because it involves risk to help someone that needs a helping hand.

1. But THE most frightening thing is having billions of people focusing on such anger, hatred, and expecting the worst.

Energetically, it feeds power directly into that which you say you don’t want. It’s one of the Universal Principles, “that which you think about expands.” And if you think this is all a bunch of ‘hooey’ then you don’t believe in the power of prayer. Because each time you focus your attention on something, the Universe (God) responds… So as the saying goes, “be careful what you ask for.”

Is there risk in the world. Of course, but that doesn’t stop most of us
from living our lives. Are there bad people in the world? Of course, but just because some people are evil, that doesn’t translate into “EVERYONE” is evil.

I’m Christian, so I’ll use a Christian challenge. If Jesus walked up behind you and said, “hey… what’s cha up to?” If you answered honestly, would he slap you on the back and say, “thanks for carrying on my work…” or slap you upside the head and tell you to stop doing that in his name.

Just sayin’

Empath's Support During Major Crisis

Empath's Support During a Crisis

When the world explodes in a major crisis, empaths can have an amplified response. It's important that you protect yourself and deal with the flood of emotions in a positive, realistic way.

For example, I've never been much of a crier. But after the attacks in Paris recently, I was writing the prayer for the vigil. Suddenly, I began sobbing rather uncontrollably. Most unlike me. Knowing I'm an empath, I immediately realized I was 'feeling' the nearly global sadness over the attack in Paris. While I am upset by the events, I knew my sobbing was an exaggerated response. I allowed myself to cry for a while, but also protected myself from falling into a deep depression. See, I knew I was feeling other's sadness, and that unless I put up my 'shields' I could easily be caught up in the powerful fear-based vibrations.

What Empaths Can Do

1. Discern whether the emotions are 'yours' or if you are picking up other people's vibrations and emotions. How to know the difference? Well, I knew I wasn't a big crier and I don't have any direct connection with anyone caught up in the violence. I felt safe in my home, so I determined I was tapping into the more global vibration, not my own.

2. Protect your Mental Health. I have to limit how much of the 24/7 news machine I watch. I want to stay current with the news, but today's news broadcast model involves endless hash and rehash of the event until I become numb. More importantly, I begin to vibrate in that frequency.

Also limit how much you talk about the crisis and how much you listen to about it from others. Get skilled in gently guiding those around you off subjects that upset you onto more neutral or pleasant subjects.

3. You can only control your own behavior. Let me repeat that. You can only control your own behavior. Make a decision to set the timer on the 'pity party' and when the 'ding' goes off, move on to something that brings you 'up.' Listen to some good music, go for a walk, call an upbeat friend (but don't start talking/ranting about the current event!)

4. If there is something you can do about an upsetting situation, then do it. And sometimes, it's just as simple as praying. When you can get back to your internal peace, you are positively effecting those around you, and they around them, and on and on around the world. So wage peace my friend. Spread Unconditional Love, not fear-based thinking.

Some of my empath friends think that in order to care about others and the world, they have to feel every pain, every sadness, ever trauma affecting everyone, everywhere. Trust me, that's NOT how to show you care. Show you care by taking care of yourself, stay centered in your peace of mind, stay centered in Unconditional Love and Divine Energy. That's how to help.

2 Main Reasons You're Fat

Of course we all know the flippant answer. But I would like to crank that a bit and look at the energetic issues. First, I would say you're consuming the wrong energy (qi or life force) and it's clogging your chakras (energy centers). Second, you have no clear cut plan on what to do with the energy you've consumed.

Let's use a analogy. Say you hire a contractor to remodel your house (your body). The contractor is confined to the house and dependent upon you to deliver all of the supplies and tools needed to complete the job. Like any remodeling job, you want to change what you have into something you desire. But many of us have instructions and plans that are sketchy at best. Now imagine when you hired this conscientious contractor, you gave them only a vague description of what you wanted. Something like, "update the kitchen" or I like neutral colors and natural hardwood floors." Not much for the contractor to go on.

Remember the contractor is dependent on you to deliver the supplies and tools. So you start delivering (eating). You deliver some concrete sacks, 2 gallons of food dye, some salvaged wood planks, a tube of glue, and a trash bag of 'stuff'. Or you bring the right tools and supplies, but way too many at a time! At this point, the frustrated contractor has no choice but to start sorting out this interesting pile of goodies you've dumped and find something, anything, that might be useful in his remodeling job. What he can't use or be flushed down the toilet, he must store (fat). He has no choice but to stack it in one of the closets or rooms to get it out of his way.

Ok, enough with this analogy. You get it. The second issue is your plan. Different bodies and lifestyles need different tools and supplies. An athlete's needs are different from someone trying to recover from a disease. A child's needs are different from a senior. So what are YOUR plans and needs? Have you even thought out what you want your body to do for you? Yeah, me either! So today's challenge. Strip down to your undies, and spend a minute in front of a mirror. Be brave! Bring a note pad and without any judgement, take a long, objective look at your body. Make some notes. Be objective, this is YOUR body. No matter how disappointed or frustrated you might be with what you see, you DO have the power to change. The first steps in any journey are to decide where you are, where you want to go and then plan a route to get there.

Challenge ~ Make a list of where your body is now. Here's a few items on my list to get you started. Post below if you like.

A few of my body issues:
  • Has 40 Pounds of unusable energy (fat)
  • Straining under the load of carrying too much 'stuff' I don't need and can't use
  • Polluted with some toxic wastes of unhealthy energy (crappy food)
  • Suffering from a lack of plans on what to do with my consumed energy (food)
What are some of your issues?

Letting Food Actually Nourish You

Taking Control of My Weight ~ Day 5

Well, I'm happy to announce I've lost 2 pounds! Pretty amazing since I haven't actually started any pre planned food modification or 'diet'. Seems the very act of observing my eating behavior and evaluating the quality of food I'm consuming has a positive effect on my goal of getting a healthy weight. Here's a few examples.

I had to get back to the store but was hungry yesterday afternoon. So I was making a beeline to the Angle food cake  but had to pass the lovely bowl of fruit I have on the kitchen island. The old me would have been stuffing the cake and feeling proud it was a lower calorie choice than ice cream or cookies. The NEW me
considered the actually energetic value of the choices. I grabbed the apple and headed out the door. So I'm eating and driving and and the little voice in my head said, "You're not letting the apple nourish you." Have to admit that was true. I was chomping and swallowing a very tasty apple while negotiating driving.

So I pulled into a parking lot with a lovely view of some trees and finished my delicious apple slowly and with gratitude. Tasting the tart crisp juicy fruit was satisfying my need for something sweet. My mouth was getting those strong flavors and texture I like so much and my body was getting some actual real food! A win-win!

Conclusion

A lot of my body fat energetically represents non-food calories that my body didn't need or couldn't use. Those old "empty calories" they talk about.

So here's your challenge. Post below the last item you ate that you feel guilty about.
1) Why do you feel guilty?
2) How do you feel about your excess weight.
3) What if anything do those 2 emotions have to do with each other? Be honest. No judgements here.

Day 3 ~ Taking Control of my Weight

Resolution

I can see why so many people fail at achieving weight loss... it's only day three, I'm only 'observing' my eating, not modifying it and I'm ready to quit all this nonsense! Energetic patterns (habits) are really strong and take some real effort to overcome or change. Thank goodness I'm doing this blog because believe me, I'd be happy to stop all this silliness right now and slink back into my old patterns. No one would know, right? Seriously, who's idea was this anyway!?

There's something to be said for accountability. I can see big sweeping patterns throughout my life that I've constructed to minimize my accountability. I don't like having to 'explain' myself to someone or justify my behavior. As a uber control freak that's understandable. So why am I am publishing a blog for the world to see? While we don't need to be accountable to others, we DO need to be accountable to God and to ourselves. Our physical bodies are reflections of our vibrational patterns. And when I look at the things I CAN control in and on my physical body, I have to say I'm NOT impressed. It's easy to talk about getting old stale energy patterns out of your daily life ~ maybe NOT so easy to do. Step 1 is to identify what's working and what could be fine tuned.

Here is one of my favorite videos that shows clearly how vibrations affect the physical. In the video it show how different patterns form at different frequencies. It is important to note that before the NEW pattern can form the OLD pattern has to break up.

So what is one thing in your life that you would like to change? Post below.

Taking Control of my Weight ~ Day 2 Observation Continues

First, I think a bit of explanation about what you can expect from following this blog. There is a gazillion dollar industry full of diet experts and gurus that can and will tell you the nutrition and physicality of achieving a healthy weight. That's NOT what I'm going to talk about. I'm going to talk about MY experience and MY energy blocks and hopefully you will see something that inspires or enlightens you in your journey. I'll be talking about the ENERGETIC reasons behind unbalanced body. Not the specifics of calories and exercise. That said... Let's pull the curtain back and explore what's REALLY going on.

Dinner last night. (It's important to note that I'm aware I can watch my fave TV shows On Demand later at my convenience.) My resolve crumbled as Grey's Anatomy started and I migrated with my plate to the TV tray that stays up by my recliner. Oh. Wow. I just realized the message of having a TV tray (complete with place mat) permanently out and waiting for me to eat in front of TV. Hmmm... I can take some solace from the name, "TV Tray" in that apparently I'm not the only one that has this behavior. Good! Lessens my guilt ever so slightly. I'd tell you about what dinner encompassed, but let's just say I really didn't pay much attention. But it wasn't all that pretty... and it might have involved some less than healthy Better Cheddar smoked sausages.

Conclusion... Well, I've put in place some mechanisms that make it easy to keep doing what I'm doing, like keeping the TV tray out instead of having to hassle with getting it out, putting a fresh place mat down and missing some of my TV show. Is it bad to eat in front of the TV show? Not necessarily. BUT if I don't want to continue to look and feel like I do, then I can't keep doing what I'm doing. Putting the consumption of food, which is a critical mission to my health, behind a fictional world (TV show) probably won't assist me in achieving the balance I want for my physical body.

Taking Control of my Weight ~ Day 1

Become Aware of what I'm eating and how.
So in order to know what steps to take, I decided I should figure out what I'm doing that is working and what needs to be 'twiqued'. So Awareness is my step 1. Plan is to track and blog about the next few days.

Lunch ~ Thursday 3/26
Not overly hungry, but 'time' to eat. My regular lunch = Lean roast beef on Everything Bagel, ranch dressing on bagel, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese. Tortilla chips and a diet coke. Estimated about 750 calories. I'll calculate later.

I really had to fight the urge to eat mindlessly while watching TV or reading news on my smart phone. But good lesson. I'm not paying attention to one of the most IMPORTANT things I do for my life. Eating with purpose. Yikes. OK. so I payed attention to the food. First, it seemed like a lot. I continued eating well past when I felt full, but was compelled to 'finish the food' I had prepared. The beef was very flavorful, I liked the bagel. The salty chips were a great crunch and I like salt. The Diet Coke really seemed very much like a pleasant tasting chemical liquid. It caused a very strong burning sensation in my mouth. Not very refreshing but I liked the sensation it created in my mouth. My other drink of choice is unsweetened Iced Tea. I didn't drink it for lunch but it always seems refreshing to me. I feel full but I would happily down a handful of chocolate candies or munch several Girl Scout cookies. Good thing I don't have either. :-)

Conclusion ~ I have a set of habits and foods that I haven't evaluated or adjusted lately
to better serve the ACTUAL needs of my body, and I like foods that create strong sensations in my mouth.
