Spring Break Vacation Day 1 - Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge

While many headed off to a warm beach for sun and fun, I headed off to the gulf coast swamps to look for birds during their spring migration. I know, it's not as sexy as days on the beach and nights in the clubs, but it was exciting none the less. Come with me now... I'll share a few of my highlights!

Met up with gal-pal Deb in Houston, TX. Our friendship goes back to the 80's and she is willing to put up with most of my hair brained ideas. What a great friend. My plan was to meander the swampy coastline from Houston to New Orleans. Our family had relatives that settled in New Orleans and I had never been, so... French Quarter, here I come.

Young Alligator
Day 1 ~ Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge, Chambers County, TX. Established in 1963, the 34,000-acre refuge is part of the National Wildlife Refuge System. Loved this refuge! I am especially fond of driving trails, since I'm not hip on marching through swamp, weeds and bugs... and alligators! And man did we see some alligators. But the absolute highlight of this trip was as we were leaving around sunset. We spotted 2 animals in the road ahead and at first, I thought they were fat deer, and then maybe a calf. As we got closer, I realized they were wild pigs! OMG! They were obviously very young and actually, pretty cute. I felt quite safe in the SUV and they scampered off quickly squabbling among themselves over the intrusion.

My favorite alligator encounter was this little guy on the road in front of us. First he scurries away, then pauses and returns to cross in front of us, and takes his good sweet time. Guess he figured that he made his point and finishes in a quick sprint back to the safety of the water.

Meditation using the Violet Flame

March Mediation

Ah, Spring... Time for house cleaning, pollen, and most importantly, rebirth! Time to shake off the stale and get your environment ready for the renewal to come. So clean out the house, prep your lawn and garden and shake off your own stale energy from winter.

This meditation is designed to help you get relaxed mentally and physically and then invites in the powerful healing Violet Flame which can help clear your aura, and transmute denser energies and emotions to higher and lighter frequencies. It is very helpful in clearing Karma.

If you couldn't join us last night for March's guided meditation at the Rock Shop, I've created this video so you can enjoy it at your leisure. It's a little over 16 minutes. Please share this, or any of the videos, with anyone you feel would benefit. Don't forget to subscribe to my Youtube channel to get notices when I add more content.

Check out our website if you are interested in more of our events.

Free meditation class is the first Tuesday of each month from 6 to 7 pm (CST) at The Rock Shop in historic downtown Paducah, Kentucky. ~ Susan

Thanks to Troika Saint Germain for the beautiful prayer.  For more information on her work, here is the link https://ascension-stgermain.com/violetflame-article.html.

Today I'm Grateful for...

"Morning has broken, like the first morning..." I woke up watching the sun rise through the window with that lyric in my head. I like to start each day with gratitude, first to God for gracing me with another earthly day, and then set the tone for the rest of the day with a few things I'm grateful for. So today, I'm grateful for..

  • Our nation's commitment to the smooth transition of power. I am profoundly grateful. Thank you.
  • To all the public servants that serve us in so many ways, regardless of circumstances. Thank you.
  • To Donald J. Trump for challenging me to crisply define what I believe and showing me exactly where my complacency lies. Thank you. I will be taking action on things that I hold dear but are not guaranteed. I have been taking too much for granted.
  • I'm grateful for the opportunity to see that the status quo wasn't working out for everyone and that I could be more sensitive to other's needs.
  • To the media for reminding me to go out and talk to people, observe the reality around me. Make up my own mind about things.

Change is constant and inevitable. The challenge is to be proactive and manage it, not get run over by the chaos. To shape something better with the elements of the old. To abandon structures and patterns that don't work, are outdated or limiting. To embrace the opening that change brings and to exploit it for the betterment of all. That's what I'm grateful for today.

p.s. I'm also grateful for bacon. Which I'm having for breakfast. Yum!
