How To Get Over a Bad Breakup Fast

He was a real jerk most of the time. He was moody, unpredictable with his affection and often absent when you needed him most. So you kicked his emotionally unavailable butt out the door last week. “Good riddance!” Deep down in your heart-of-hearts, you knew he wasn't the one for you.
Get Over a Bad Breakup Fast

So why one week later are you still have a broken heart and on the verge of calling him to come back?

Even though you may have broken up with him, have you broken your energetic cords with him? If not, you are likely going to have a tough time getting over the breakup quickly and cleanly.

Don't panic. There are some simple things you can do to speed your healing process along.

First and foremost, take some “me” time. Give yourself a moment to be sad, mad or disappointed that the relationship didn't work out the way you wanted. Honor those emotions. Just don't get stuck in the energetic “goo” breakups often leave behind.

Every time you start to feel sad or lonely, distract yourself with something you love doing. (NOT eating a pint of ice cream!) Take a bubble bath... or better yet, take a salt bath. Salt is well known for relieving stale energy and removing it from your aura.
You can use Himalayan pink salt, but any good mineral salt (cheaper) will do the job. Here's a link to one of my favorites. You can add some Epsom salt to the water, but you want it to be mostly mineral salt in order to cleanse your aura properly. Use a minimum of 8 ounces of salt. Soak for 15 minutes and then shower off. You will feel amazing and the salt will breakup all that all stale emotion and wash it away.
Next, remove any of his belongings. Remember, this isn't an excuse to call and meet him for the exchange. This is clearing anything that has his energetic signature on it from your home. If he hasn't called to retrieve it in more than a week, it wasn't that valuable to him. Give it away or toss it.
Do a physical cleanup. Get rid of any clutter or mess he might have left. Change the bed. Clean the bathroom. Toss out any of his foods in the cabinet.
Now, smudge your house. Using white sage or another clearing incense will do wonders to clear away any of the remaining energy from the breakup. If you want more details on smudging, here's a link to my book, Smudging, Clear Negative Energy from Your Life & Home.
And finally, this is the most powerful thing you can do to get over the breakup fast – cut your energetic cords with him. There are many ways to cut your cords. Here is a simple one.
Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Get yourself calm. Say a prayer if you like. Give thanks for all the good things in your life. Honor the relationship even if it wasn't a good match for you long term. You can honor him as a fellow human being.

Once you are calm, in your mind's eye, see a cord(s) between you and he. Keeping your eyes closed, take your right hand and make some imaginary scissors with your fingers. Make a cutting motion and snip those cords. There may be several and they may be thick, so be sure you cut them all completely. See the cords evaporate like a puff of smoke once they are cut. Repeat anytime the relationship comes to mind or you are tempted to call him.

So now you know how to get over a bad breakup fast. Clear all that old stale relationship energy from your life and you will be ready much faster for that perfect love to come into your life and rock your world!

Spring Break Vacation Day 1 - Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge

While many headed off to a warm beach for sun and fun, I headed off to the gulf coast swamps to look for birds during their spring migration. I know, it's not as sexy as days on the beach and nights in the clubs, but it was exciting none the less. Come with me now... I'll share a few of my highlights!

Met up with gal-pal Deb in Houston, TX. Our friendship goes back to the 80's and she is willing to put up with most of my hair brained ideas. What a great friend. My plan was to meander the swampy coastline from Houston to New Orleans. Our family had relatives that settled in New Orleans and I had never been, so... French Quarter, here I come.

Young Alligator
Day 1 ~ Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge, Chambers County, TX. Established in 1963, the 34,000-acre refuge is part of the National Wildlife Refuge System. Loved this refuge! I am especially fond of driving trails, since I'm not hip on marching through swamp, weeds and bugs... and alligators! And man did we see some alligators. But the absolute highlight of this trip was as we were leaving around sunset. We spotted 2 animals in the road ahead and at first, I thought they were fat deer, and then maybe a calf. As we got closer, I realized they were wild pigs! OMG! They were obviously very young and actually, pretty cute. I felt quite safe in the SUV and they scampered off quickly squabbling among themselves over the intrusion.

My favorite alligator encounter was this little guy on the road in front of us. First he scurries away, then pauses and returns to cross in front of us, and takes his good sweet time. Guess he figured that he made his point and finishes in a quick sprint back to the safety of the water.
